Dear whom it may concern,
the forum members of the LUG 1000Steine had lengthy conversation about the new Pick-A-Brick website on lego.com. We would like to use this oportunity to give some feedback on the new PAB after some days of testing and placing orders (sometimes trying to). The list does not contain any priority of what we think is the most stressing issue, however the drastic price increase on some parts and the removal of pieces that are temporary out of stock, was named by almost everyone.
Positive:
- Having one website definately beats having two.
- Free shipping above 55€.
- Counts towards purchase thresholds for GWPs.
- Possible to redeem VIP coupons when buying bricks (previously only possible for PAB, but not BNP).
- Price differences among colors are consolidated as much as possible.
- Possible to use direct links to single items.
- Possible to peform a new search without having to go back (as previously at BNP).
Negative:
- The drastic price increase on some parts (animals is a good example).
- Not being able to see pieces that are temporary out of stock.
- Not possible to go back using the browser function "back".
- Too much space is being used for the rest of the website instead of showing bricks.
- Not possible to show more than 20 bricks per page.
- Sorting by price does not work reliably (maybe it is not sorted by the localized price in the country but rather a default price?).
- Search has some bugs: When searching for a part number that is also a set number, you see the content of the set (example: 71710).
- The difference between "Normal" and "Bestseller" in combination with two shopping carts and different shipping terms is quite confusing. While an AFOL might understand this, since they've been using BNP and PAB before, we feel regular customers are going to be quite lost.
- Not possible to remove items from the shopping cart.
- After a purchase and going back to PAB, the shopping cart is still filled and needs to be cleared manually once before the next purchase.
- One of our members had an item removed magically from the shopping cart without any notification (mabe the part sold out in the meantime?).
