First ever LEGO Technic Top Gear collaboration revealed at LA Auto Show

Los Angeles, USA: Today, the LEGO Group revealed the first ever LEGO® Technic™ Top Gear Set in partnership with BBC Studios. The new LEGO Technic App Controlled Top Gear Rally Car is an authentic looking GT Rally car for ages 9 years and above and will be available globally from 26th December 2019.

LEGO Technic designers joined forces with the BBC Top Gear team to co-design the body of the car and accompanying stickers to create an ultra-realistic and fast looking racer that fans are sure to enjoy building at home.

The model is remote controlled via the LEGO Technic CONTROL+ app and contains functions such as steering, multi-touch control and gyro control as well as different challenges and achievements to deliver a thrilling, immersive play experience. The rally car comes complete with 1 large motor, 1 XL motor and 1 Bluetooth controlled smart hub.

Hi,

ehrlich gesagt frage ich mich mittlerweile, ob TLG Geld dafür _bekommt_, dass sie ausgenudelte Lizenzen auf ihre Packungen drucken. Ich habe von "Top Gear" jedenfalls nie etwas mitbekommen und sehe hier in erster Linie ein nicht wirklich schönes Auto mit einer für mich uninteressanten Art der Motorisierung zu einem völlig übertriebenen Preis.

Was aber gar nicht schlimm ist, denn gerade hat Stonewars Bilder der weiteren Technic-Neuheiten 2020 veröffentlicht. Da gibt es einen echt süßen Claas Xerion und endlich die Rückkehr der gelben Paneele #5 und #6. Sehr schön!

Naja Top Gear ist schon ziemlich bekannt. Mir stellen sich nur 2 fragen.

1) Macht es wirklich soviel Sinn diese Lizenz zu benutzen nachdem die Show die 3 Hauptträger der Serie entlassen hat, und seitdem wohl damit auch ziemlich an Quoten verloren haben wird.

2) An welche Zielgruppe soll dieses unfassbar hässliche Auto gerichtet sein? Für Erwachsene als Lizenzset ist es zu einfach gestrickt, und Kinder hingegen werden mit Top Gear wohl nicht viel anfangen können.

Edit: Und wenn ich mir nur dass obere Bild anschaue, schwant mir schon dass es Sticker verseucht sein wird.
Edit 2: Also App controlled, somit ist es auch zum Spielen ungeeignet. Fernsteuern mittels app ohne dem Gefühl einer realen Fernsteuerung ist nutzlos.

Eine vor sich hindümpelnde TV-Show ohne ihre markanten Aushängeschilder? Hässlich auch nur einen Meter gegen den dichten Lebel über dem Ärmelkanal? Dafür Aufkleber soweit das Auge reicht? Fernsteuerung ausschließlich via App auf dem glatten, gefühlsfreien Bildschirm eines smarten Telephones? Die vielen, weithin gut sichtbaren blauen Pins entschädigen doch sogleich für alles. Oder etwa nicht?


Nur wenige finden den Weg. Manche erkennen ihn nicht, manche wollen das gar nicht.

Absolut.
Dieses Set kommt mind. 5 Jahre zu spät und hat mindestens eine richtige Fernbedienung zu wenig.
