Pimp my Schach

» Theme Name (something short and catchy):

Advanced chess

» Characters (who is good and bad guys?):

white (good) vs. black (bad)

» Conflict (why do they fight, and what do they fight over?):

They want to beat the opponent's king

» Setting (where does the story take place?):

On a checkered board

» Background Info (if relevant):

I imagine a board game based on chess but with different rules: you don't always play on 8*8 board but can start a quick game with, say, 3*3. The white figures are swift and heroic, with wings, blades and laser guns while the blacks are vain and slower and use armor, axe and firearms.
There is a ruleset that allows the different units different maneuvres when moving or attacking. Not every figure can beat all of the other figures.

Example: the black villain with the big bore gun wants to shoot on the white fairy. But she sees this and can out-fly the cannonball by use of her wings.

Every character may have three live points, that are visible on the baseplate as three round 1*1 bricks. For every hit, one lifepoint is taken.

The sets consist of a certain amount of characters, each one has a baseplate, perhaps 6*6 studs, either white or black. There are the three lifepoint bricks and a minifigure with unique features (weapon, horse, wings, cannon etc). All the gear should be white or black. The playfield may be printed on cardboard or constructed like the Lego Sports football field with black and white tiles. Perhaps a white figure on a white spot may have a slight advantage. Maybe there are obstacle tiles in different color, that the units can not move onto. When using the tile playfield, for every character must be included two tiles so it can still move when the collection grows.

There were computer games that came close to this: Archon or Battle Isle.
