Wird's schlimmer?

Lego vs. Lego
By The Copenhagen Post
Toy producer Lego is suing Copenhagen artist Louise Lego Andersen for using her middle name to promote her art

Louise Lego Andersen has become a small brick in the way of her larger namesake, toy producer Lego, in its campaign to protect its registered brand name.
The toy maker demands that the Copenhagen-based artist stops using her middle name to promote her art, daily newspaper Politiken reported.

The company has not been deterred by the fact that Lego has been a family name since 1908, 24 years before the toy factory got its name and began producing the bricks that would later make its name.

In this case, size matters, not first come first serve - at least if the company gets its way.

Wednesday was the first day of the Lego trial at the Maritime and Commercial Court of Copenhagen.

Louise Lego Andersen, whose maternal grandfather, Ejgil Lego Andersen, was the first one to be baptized Lego, was represented before the court by her uncle, also named Ejgil Lego Andersen.

He told the court it was entirely normal to prefer one's middle name as surname, instead of one's last name.

Andersen was in her full right to call herself Louise Lego, instead of Andersen, her uncle said.

The two parties meet again before the court on Thursday, one to defend her artistic signature, the other the exclusive rights to its brand name.

Daß Ihre Eltern den mittleren Namen damals überhaupt haben verwenden dürfen?
